Surgeons created a 3D printed model of a child's heart with complex congenital heart disease using data from an MRI, giving them a roadmap to perform the surgery.
Just as the technology of echocardiography transformed cardiac diagnosis in the mid-1970s, so 3D- printing technology will revolutionize cardiac surgery.
